Generate AI images and videos without a monthly model subscription
Key takeawayA task budget for the image/video Playground route, without confusing prepaid usage with separate Agent plans.
If you create only when a project arrives, a fixed monthly model subscription may not match your workload. ModelRush's image and video Playground calls use prepaid balance charged by usage. This guide covers that route only. It does not mean every ModelRush service has no recurring fee, or that registration includes free generation.

Separate three different amounts

A top-up adds balance to your account. A run estimate is the amount associated with one request. The project's cost is the total of the requests you actually need, including planned retries. These are different numbers. Buying $10 of balance does not make a $0.03 video cost $10, and a low per-run price does not mean you can start without sufficient balance.
The public pricing page currently shows standard $10, $50 and $100 top-up packs. Your account may offer different eligible checkout options; use the actual checkout, not this guide, to determine availability. Do not treat the public packs as a universal minimum for every account. Check payment terms and the balance shown after payment.

Choose a real image route and a real video route

The image button below selects Cherry Z-Image Spicy, not another similarly named Z-Image model. Its public price checked on October 9, 2026 is $0.006 per generation. The video button selects Wan 3 Spicy image-to-video. Its public rates are $0.045/second at 480P, $0.09 at 720P and $0.18 at 1080P. Current account quotes can differ, including eligible previous rates; review your own estimate.
A five-second 480P Wan 3 request calculates as $0.225 before rounding. Positive operation charges are reserved in whole cents rounded upward, so allow $0.23 at this rate. A Z-Image request at $0.006 similarly reserves $0.01. An illustrative task of four image requests and two such video requests is $0.474 before rounding and $0.50 across the per-request reserves. These examples do not guarantee an acceptable result or describe an audio/video quality test.
For image and video tasks, the reserve is an upper limit before the run. After completion, the fee is calculated from actual usage and rounded upward to whole cents for each positive task; unused reserved balance is released. At these same rates and usage, the four images plus two videos total $0.50 in final fees, not the unrounded $0.474. Your confirmed price and actual usage govern.

Keep automatic top-up a deliberate choice

Automatic top-up is a separate optional setting. When enabled, it can charge the saved payment method when balance reaches your chosen threshold. It is not the same as a fixed monthly subscription, but it can cause additional payments without a new manual checkout each time. Review whether it is enabled, the threshold and the top-up amount before starting a project.
For a bounded manual budget, keep track of balance and decide explicitly whether to add more. If an automatic payment is already in progress, changing a setting is not proof it has been canceled. Read the actual billing status. Do not infer your current auto top-up state from a new account default or from this article.

Know the boundary of “no monthly subscription”

ModelRush also advertises separate personal Agent plans on its pricing page. Their terms can include a monthly fee and a trial that renews. Model usage is charged separately from Agent membership. Using this prepaid image/video workflow is not a claim that an Agent plan is free, required here, or permanently free of recurring charges. Check the product and checkout you select.

Start with a task, not unlimited retries

Open one of the exact Playground links. Sign in or create an account, complete any required access confirmation, and check settings and the current estimate. Top up if necessary, then submit only when you choose to run. For image-to-video, supply an image you own or may use. Registration and account balance do not replace the model's access or content requirements.
Use the worksheet to set an initial request count and a separate retry allowance. Record the result before adding another request. Stop at your budget and decide whether to revise the task. See /pricing for current offers, /models/zimage-spicy and /models/wan3-spicy for model details, and /blog/ai-video-api-cost-guide for a wider cost workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Is generation free after registration?

No. These calls use prepaid balance and current model prices. Check the estimate before submitting.

Is a top-up the same as a monthly subscription?

No. A top-up adds prepaid balance. A subscription has its own recurring terms. This guide only describes prepaid image/video calls.

Is $10 the minimum for every account?

Do not assume that. The public page lists standard packs, but eligible account checkout options can differ. Read your actual checkout.

Can auto top-up make another payment?

Yes, if enabled and its trigger conditions are met. Review the threshold, amount and saved payment method separately from your task budget.

Does this mean ModelRush has no subscriptions?

No. The pricing page also presents separate personal Agent offers. Their fees, trials and renewal terms are separate from model usage.

How much is the example of four images and two short videos?

At the checked rates, four $0.006 image requests plus two five-second 480P Wan 3 requests calculate to $0.474 before rounding, with $0.50 across request reserves. Actual usage and prices govern.
